How to Choose the Best Juice Cleanse in the UK (2026 Guide)

Quick answer: The best juice cleanse for you is the one that matches how you want to cleanse. Check five things before you buy: how the juice is made (cold-pressed and unpasteurised, or HPP and pasteurised for a longer shelf life), when it was made, what it comes in (glass or plastic), how much of it is vegetable, and how many bottles you get a day. UK cleanse prices we checked in October 2026 run from about £13 to £65 a day, so it pays to compare like for like.

Search "best juice cleanse" and you will mostly find roundups: one writer, a handful of brands, a few days of juice. They are fun to read, but they rarely tell you how to judge a cleanse yourself. This guide does. It is written by our nutritionist, Grace Kingswell, who designs every Presscription cleanse, and it covers the questions worth asking any brand, including us.

The juice cleanse buyer's checklist

1. Cold-pressed vs HPP or pasteurised

"Cold-pressed" describes how the juice is extracted: produce is crushed and then pressed under pressure, rather than spun through a fast, hot centrifugal blade. What happens after pressing matters just as much.

  • Pasteurised juice is heated to kill microbes and extend shelf life.
  • HPP (high pressure processing) puts sealed bottles under very high water pressure. It uses no heat, but it is an extra processing step designed to keep juice on the shelf for weeks rather than days.
  • Raw, unpasteurised juice has neither step. It has a short life, so it has to be made close to when you drink it.

None of these is unsafe when done properly, but they are different products. If you want juice that is as close to freshly pressed as possible, look for "unpasteurised" and "not HPP" on the label or product page. Every Presscription juice is cold-pressed, raw and never pasteurised.

2. Made to order vs long shelf life

Some cleanses are made in big batches and given a use-by date weeks away. Others are pressed in small runs for each order. Check the product page or FAQs for a phrase like "made to order" or a shelf life in days. Ours are made fresh to order daily, which is why delivery slots are tied to your start date.

3. Glass vs plastic

Bottle material is easy to check and it is a personal choice. Glass does not flex or scuff, and it is widely recyclable. Plastic is lighter and cheaper to ship, and many brands use recycled or recyclable PET. If packaging matters to you, look for a clear statement on the brand's site. We bottle every juice in glass.

4. Veg-to-fruit ratio and sugar

This is the single biggest difference between a cleanse that leaves you steady and one that leaves you on a sugar rollercoaster. Fruit-heavy juices taste sweet and easy, but they carry far more natural sugar. Look at the ingredient lists: are cucumber, celery, kale, spinach and romaine near the top, or apple, pineapple and orange? Our cleanses are around 80% vegetables, and our Advanced Juice Cleanse is our greenest, lowest-sugar option.

5. Are shots included?

Small 30ml to 60ml shots of ginger, turmeric or citrus add a sharp hit between bigger bottles and help break up the day. Some brands include them, some sell them as extras. Check whether the daily price includes them. Every Presscription juice cleanse includes two 30ml booster shots a day.

6. Who designed it?

A cleanse is a short eating plan, so it helps if a qualified person has thought about the order of the bottles, the balance of vegetables and fruit, and how you will feel at 4pm. Look for a named nutritionist or dietitian rather than an anonymous "expert team". Ours are designed by nutritionist Grace Kingswell.

7. Delivery: London night-before or UK morning

Because fresh juice has a short life, delivery timing decides how easy your first day is. Check the slots before you choose a start date. With Presscription:

  • London: Sunday to Thursday, after 7pm the night before your start date, so you can begin first thing.
  • Rest of the UK: Tuesday to Friday, before 10:30am on the morning of your start date.
  • Seven-day cleanses are London only.

8. Price per day across the market

Headline prices are hard to compare because brands bundle different numbers of days and drinks. Divide the price by the number of days. Here is what we found on brands' own websites on 23 October 2026:

  • Nutriseed: 5 Day Juice Cleanse (25 juices) £99.99, about £20 a day; a sale 3-day pack was £39.99, about £13 a day.
  • PRESS: 1-day cleanses from £38; 7 days £217 to £224, about £31 to £32 a day.
  • EXALT: 1-day cleanse £38; 7 days £224, £32 a day; 14 days £420, £30 a day.
  • Presscription: 1 day £65; 3 days £185, about £62 a day; 7 days £395, about £56 a day.

So the market runs from roughly £13 to £65 a day. When you compare, look at what each day includes: the number and size of bottles, whether shots are in the price, how the juice is made and how fresh it is.

9. How many bottles a day?

Most full-day cleanses give you five to eight drinks. Fewer, bigger bottles can leave long gaps; more, smaller ones keep you topped up. A typical Presscription day is six 500ml bottles (five cold-pressed juices and a nut mylk) plus two 30ml shots, numbered so you always know what is next. Our Weight Loss Cleanse has one fewer large bottle.

How Presscription compares

The table below sticks to points you can check on each brand's own website. We have only included another brand where the fact is clearly published on its site, and we have noted where we found it and when. Formats differ: EXALT's cleanse mixes juices with protein smoothies, while ours is a juice-first cleanse, so the right choice depends on what you want from your days.

Which cleanse should you choose?

  • First cleanse: start with one day of our Signature Juice Cleanse, our most popular plan and the easiest to stick to.
  • A proper reset: the 3 Day Juice Cleanse is a good middle ground, with the choice of Signature, Intermediate, Advanced, Weight Loss, Gut, Sugar Detox and Active line-ups.
  • Cutting sugar: go for the Advanced or Sugar Detox line-up.
  • Training through it: our Protein Cleanse adds three nut mylks for around 40g of natural protein a day.

You can compare every plan in our juice cleanse range. Whichever brand you choose, prepare for a couple of days beforehand, drink plenty of water and herbal tea alongside your juices, and ease back into food gently afterwards. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, take regular medication or are under 18, speak to your GP before starting any cleanse.

FAQs

What is the best juice cleanse in the UK?

There is no single best cleanse for everyone. Compare how the juice is made (cold-pressed and unpasteurised or HPP), how fresh it is, the bottle material, how much is vegetable, how many bottles you get and the price per day, then choose the one that fits your goal.

How much does a juice cleanse cost in the UK?

On brands' own websites in October 2026, UK juice cleanses ranged from about £13 to £65 a day. Longer plans usually cost less per day. Presscription starts at £65 for one day and £395 for seven.

What is the difference between cold-pressed and HPP juice?

Cold-pressed describes how juice is extracted, by pressing rather than fast spinning. HPP is a separate step after bottling that uses very high pressure to extend shelf life. A juice can be cold-pressed and HPP, or cold-pressed and raw. Presscription juices are cold-pressed and never pasteurised.

How many bottles a day should a juice cleanse have?

Most full-day cleanses have five to eight drinks. A Presscription day is six 500ml bottles, five juices and a nut mylk, plus two 30ml shots, spaced from mid-morning to early evening.

Can a juice cleanse help with weight loss?

A juice cleanse is lower in calories than a normal day of eating, so many people see the scales move, though much of that early change is water. It works best as a reset and a starting point for longer-term habits. We never promise a specific amount.
